Team comments
Discuss any conversation with your team, right next to it — threaded discussions with replies, reactions, @mentions, pins, and resolve.
Every conversation you can open carries a team comments panel. It is a private discussion space for your org — the person on the other side of the conversation never sees it. Use it to hand off context, ask a teammate for a second opinion, or leave a decision trail next to the messages it is about.
Click the comment bubble in the conversation header to open the panel. A badge on the button counts the open discussions.
Where comments appear
Comments work on every conversation you can read, whatever the reason you can read it:
- A conversation on your own line (an email account or phone number you have access to).
- A conversation a teammate shared with you by name or link.
- A conversation you see through a team share.
- A conversation that belongs to a shared contact you are a member of.
Everyone with access to the conversation sees the same discussion. A comment you post from the conversation panel also appears on the shared contact's comment timeline when the conversation belongs to one.
What a discussion holds
Each discussion is a small thread of its own:
- Replies — the first message opens the discussion; teammates reply under it.
- Reactions — hover a comment and pick an emoji. Click an existing reaction pill to join or leave it.
- @mentions — type
@to pick a teammate. Mentions highlight in the text, and the teammate gets an email with a link straight to the discussion. Each person controls that email in Settings → Account. - Pins — pin the comment that matters; pinned comments collect in a rail at the top of the panel.
- Resolve — close a discussion when it is settled. Resolved discussions leave the default view; the Show resolved toggle brings them back, and any writer can reopen one.
- Edit and delete — you can edit or delete your own comments. A conversation manager can also delete a teammate's comment.
Comments never leave your org
A comment is internal. It does not send anything to the contact, and it never appears in the conversation itself. To message the contact, use the composer as usual.
Who can comment
Your access level on the conversation decides what you can do in the panel:
| Your access | In the comments panel |
|---|---|
| Line access, Can manage | Read, write, react, pin, resolve — and delete any comment. |
| Can send or Can view (named share, link, or team) | Read and write. The org deliberately brought you into this conversation, so you can join its discussion. |
| Shared-contact member at Comment or Send | Read and write. |
| Shared-contact member at View | Read only — the contact's owner chose a view-only permit for you. |
You can only @mention teammates who can see the conversation. The picker suggests likely candidates, and CommSync checks each mention against the person's real access when you post.
Contact-wide discussions
A shared contact can also hold discussions that are about the contact as a whole rather than one conversation. Those rows appear in the conversation panel with a Contact tag, so you always know which scope you are reading.
