Focus reply

Long conversations are hard to answer from a small composer. You scroll up to re-read, lose your place, scroll back down, and repeat. Focus reply opens your reply in a near-fullscreen canvas. The conversation sits on the left, opened on the newest message, and your draft sits on the right with room to breathe.

Focus reply is the default surface for replies. Start a reply in any conversation and the canvas opens.

What you get

• The full composer, decompressed. The canvas holds every tool the in-thread composer has, laid out larger.
• The conversation beside your draft. The left pane shows the thread, parked on the newest message.
• Drag the divider. The split between the two panes is resizable.
• Reply to a specific message. Anchor your reply to one exact message.
• Which line you send from, one row. A compact row above the editor shows it.

The full composer holds rich text formatting, the AI writing menu, attachments, Cc/Bcc, Reply and Reply all, schedule send, and Save draft. CommSync lays it out with a larger subject line, a roomier toolbar, and an editor that fills the canvas.

The left pane shows the thread's messages — texts as chat bubbles, emails with their subject and full formatting. They appear in the usual order, oldest at the top and newest at the bottom. The canvas opens parked on the newest message, so you land on the exact message you answer. Scroll up for earlier history.

The divider between the two panes is resizable, and CommSync remembers where you leave it on that browser.

Use a message's Reply action in the conversation pane to anchor your reply on that exact message. The anchor chip above the editor updates in place.

Above the editor, a compact row carries who the reply goes out as. Click the sender chip to switch lines. Next to it sits the email-chain choice (New chain, Reply here, or Other chain). These are the same controls as the thread view, in sync with it, in a single line.

One draft, two surfaces

The canvas and the in-thread composer are two views over the same draft. Type in one, close it, and the other shows every word — this covers attachments and Cc/Bcc changes too. Reply drafts keep auto-saving while you write (the Draft saved pill carries over). You never lose anything when you close the canvas, or the whole thread. See Drafts.

Closing and sending

• Esc or the collapse button returns you to the thread with your draft intact in the inline composer.
• Send works exactly as it does in the thread — the canvas closes and your message lands in the conversation immediately.
